Christian's 5th Birthday Party

Christian is 5 this year! It's so hard to believe!!! This year he had a slide in the front yard for his party. He was so excited about it. It was supposed to be a waterslide, but we ended up having a cold front come in and it was too cold for the kids to put the hose on it. They still had a blast riding down it dry though. Uncle Herbie and Herbie Lee sliding down.
It was time to put that batting practice to use. He wallopped the pinata.
He loved his slide!!
I love this picture. He is so handsome...I can't even believe it!!
Here he is with his already 5 year old cousin Madison.
Smiling for pizza.
Cupcakes this year...with a Halloween theme of course. Herbie Lee looks excited.
Chowing on the cupcake...although the icing is all that ever gets eaten.
Posing for a picture with Uncle Moe and Aunt Penny.
On my new 4 wheeler Daddy got him. That's his friend Luke next to him. He is a good sharer by the way. Especially for being an only child.
Here with Daddy on his new 4 wheeler.
A new truck Aunt Penny got him. It was a great birthday. He just keeps on getting more awesome as the years go by. I know awesome isn't really a word, but there aren't words to describe how amazing he is!! He's my little man...forever!!

At the Zoo with my cousins

Karen and Rosey were in town, so along with Penny and Pam we all went to the zoo one day. It was a fun day. It started off pretty cold and poor baby Bella started to get sick. The animals were pretty ornery. We went to see the chimpanzees and one of them was charging all around and throwing "dirt" at the guests. The boys got it in thier hair and Rosey got it in her mouth. Ewwwww!!! Penny was extremely excited to feed the giraffe as you can see. None of the kids were too anxious about feeding the giraffe with her.
Could it be because Aunt Penny made it look so appealing? LOL
She kept talking to it nicely.
Devon finally got the nerve to try it. Here he is telling Christian how cool it was.
I got to take Lizzie and Christian on the skyride. They thought it was so much fun. It was like we were birds, flying over the trees. Christian was all over the place making me nervous, but Lizzie was so still and just held my hand the whole time. It was such a great day!!

Fish Fry

For the past 3 years, my work has given me tickets to the local rotary club's fish fry. Although I don't really like fish, I love this event. It is so much fun for the kids. They have the bouncy's, petting zoo, a live band (which usually consists of an 80 year old lady singing), face painting, a play area and this year they had a rock climbing wall. We only had about an hour and a half this year to spend there because Christian had a Tball game that afternoon, but we made the best of our time. Riding a pony. The crazy thing was he had a dream the night before that he was riding a horse. So when he saw he could ride this one, he was pretty excited.
Petting a baby chick.
A bunny rabbit.
A turtle. He kept putting his fingers in to pet the turtle. Why they would have a turtle at a petting zoo...I'm not too sure about.
I could barely get him out of this thing. He loves to bounce.
Doing a perfect somersault. I need to get him into gymnastics.
Attempting a cartwheel. Not too bad!
On the swings. He can now swing by himself.
He was very excited about the rock climbing wall. He wasn't scared at all!!
There he goes. Doing it all by himself.
He's probably up about 15-20 feet here.

He nearly made it to the top. I'm so proud of him.

Halloween 2009

We had a busy Halloween this year. Christian had a Tball game that afternoon at 1PM. So we went to that and then came home to carve the pumpkin, put the decorations up (again..since they fell down) and get ready to trick or treat. He barely put his hand in before he pulled it out and said it was gross!
I asked him to put his hand back in again for the picture. So he barely did.

He had fun carving the extra pieces though. He is such a good boy. He waited so patiently until I was done carving the pumpkin out.
Here is the end result. Nothing fancy when you are on a limited time schedule.
Here's our spiderman. Spiderman was very popular in our neighborhood this year. I think we saw at least 5. The funny thing is for about a month he kept saying he was going to be a skeleton and then when it came time to get the costume, he became Spiderman. I'm wondering if his friend in school was going to be Spiderman. :-)
Here he is with the witch. It cracks me up that he is holding her hand. He picked this witch out last year and loves it.
Our scary spider.
With the decorations up...at least for now. Then it was off to trick or treat. We went with the neighbors next door. Christian adores the neighbor girl Maria who is about 11 years old. They had a good time together. He walked "most" of the way, but was pretty wimpy about carrying his candy once the bucket started to get full.

Christian's first day of school

Christian started VPK this year. He goes to school from 8-12. He's been doing good so far. He is not a morning person, so it is difficult getting him up in the mornings. I am trying to get him in bed earlier and sometimes that works. The best part about his school is that he gets to play tennis and go swimming during the day.
Silly Boy!!
He's got one of those adult backpacks that is huge on him. He loves it though. Momma not so much...it's a Florida Gator backpack. Guess who bought that for him.

Christian's first T-ball game

Christian had his first Tball game on Saturday. He had practice on Wednesday night and he really seemed to enjoy it. So we were excited to see how his game would go. The game was very well attended with Daddy, Momma, Chris, Penny, Moe, Ashley, Jason, Rhiannon, Gagas, Gaga, Aunt Leslie, Ashton and Daniella. The game lasts 3 innings and the A's were up to bat first. Christian was last to bat in the 1st and 3rd innings, but first to bat in the 2nd inning. In outfield they rotate the kids around. He played in the outfield and 2nd baseman this game. He loves to bat and he loves to slide to try and catch the balls. By the 3rd inning he was pretty wiped. The game was at 3:00PM and it was really, really hot!!! He did good though. I think he will enjoy the rest of the season. These were pictures Aunt Penny took. She took 52 pictures in all. But these were my favorites. This is right before he was getting ready to play and he just got his jersey and hat.
Here he is catching a ball. They work on catching ground balls more so than fly balls.
Getting ready for the next hitter. His hat was cracking me up. He was too cool!
Daddy is an Assistant Coach, so he is able to stay on the field with Christian, which is probably a good thing to keep him focused.
Up to bat!! He's a good hitter!
Toward the end of the game we saw a lot more of him squatting down and taking a rest.
Last inning....he's waiting for his chance to bat. How cute is he?
My little man is growing up. He looks so old in this shot.
Last inning in outfield. He has lost a little bit of interest by this point.
The hat is now backwards.
End of the game...giving high 5's. Look how little he is compared to everyone else. We think he is the youngest on the team. (He is #1 in case you couldn't tell by the backwards hat)
A little sweaty after the game, carrying his new equipment bag and an icepop that Chris gave him.
It was a fun day. Highlight was him running the bases for the first time. He had only run to first in practice. So when it came time for him to run to 2nd he took off for 3rd. He had to be redirected. And then when he was on 2nd he started to run back to 1st. Everyone was screaming "turn around". It was really cute. I got it on video.
